Literary Celebrations

During the first week of March Ewa's class had a fun time celebrating Dr. Suess.  The children brought in their favorite books and shared them with their classmates.  Each child had the opportunity to be the "teacher" and "read" and tell about the book they had chosen.  It is impossible to think about Dr. Seuss and not think of The Cat and the Hat or the classic Green Eggs and Ham.  The preschoolers in Ewa's class had the opportunity to make and taste green eggs and ham.  As you can imagine, everyone was not willing to participate, but those who did were able to share that the green eggs tasted just as yood as the typical eggs. The topic was intertwined throughout the week and the curriculum with plenyt of rhyming and patterning (like The Cat's hat). Both the morning and the afternoon classes culminated the week with a pajama party/movie viewing of the The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham.  We would like to thank all the families who participated in the family project for Read Across America.  You can see the fun variety of each family's artwork and pictures throughout the school.
